Goal:

Welcome to Battling Basics. We are a school for beginers. Our goal is to teach basic Rping skills to those who have never Rp'ed before. However just because we're for beginers doesn't mean that people with experience can't come and learn from us as well. We will be more then happy to teach them new skills or help them brush up on their technique.
We are also a school of thought. Our philosphy is one of simplicity. We beleive in few and simple rules, as well as mutual co-operation. We beleive that Rping can only be successfully accomplished when both parties work together.
When you apply to this school, you will be allowed to pick a teacher of your choice, from the available staff. You will also be able to select which classes you wish to take and are free to quit your training at any time and to resume it at will. You may also specify how you wish to be taught.
As a school we are always open to suggestions. Please feel free to send your comments, suggestions or critisism to me (WWA). I will be more then happy to consider your ideas.

What we expect from you:

Here is what will be expected of you as a student: We expect you to come for training on a regular basis. It could be once a week or everyday. If you are gone for more then a month I will assume that you have suspended your training, and mark it as such.
We will expect you to consider what we teach you. Our methods are not the only methods, and we don't expect you to think that they are. But we do expect you to consider them. We will be happy to train you according to your preferences as well.
For example:
Our definition: Telepathy is the same as Psionics
Your definition: Telepathy is only communication from one mind to another
If you would like us to train you by your definition, we will be happy to do so. However we expect you to at least consider our way of doing things as well.
We expect application. We want to train you well. But we can't do that if you don't do your part and learn to the best of your abilities. So we expect you to apply what you are learning, and to do your best as a student.
We expect you to respect the staff and fellow students. This is not saying that you cannot disagree; or that you have to do everything we tell you. However when you disagree, you need to do so in a calm and rational manner.We expect you to consider our side and keep it in mind as you go. Our philosphy is that all things can be discussed in a calm and rational manner, and worked out to the benifit of both parties.

As staff we will give you the best teaching we can. Please keep in mind that staff may not have the same definitions for every attack. However we do agree on the basic principles of combat. We will attempt to give you as thorough an understanding of the rules and proceedures of spars, town rps, military rps, and story based rps as we can.
I am usually on every day and so I can assure you that staff will almost always be here.
You will get consideration. We really want to do our best and make the environment as learning friendly as possible. We will be happy to consider any ideas or critisms you may have. We will be rational and respectful in our interactions with you. We will always do our best to consider your side, and keep it in mind as we go.

How to sign up:

Students: You will need to post stating:
1. The class(es) you wish to take
2. The teacher you would like to learn under
3.Any experience or special notes you would like us to take into consideration
Teachers:
By applying to be a teacher you will be agreeing to enforce the board rules in the school.
You will also need to state what class(es) you wish to teach. (any class not listed is welcome as well.)
You may also be required to take a test. The test will have both a written and performance part.

The Test:

Written: I will ask you some questions.
Performance: You and I will spar. When we are done I will give you a grade. Your grade for this part will be based on the following criteria:
1. creativity- Creativity is a lot of what makes up RP. Your attacks should be unique and creative. If a lot of ppl are doing the same thing I am going to wonder wher you got your attacks from.
*This counts as 50% of your grade*
2. Detail:a good rp post consists of at least a paragraph and answers the following questions:
This counts as 25% of your grade
A. How did your chrachter respond to the situation?
B. What is your charachter's position?
C. How did your charachter utilize the situation?
3.Skill- Does your attack and defense co-ordinate? Are they efficient? Are they focused?
This counts as 25% ofyour grade
A note: Teachers may test their students to determine their ability level. Students may also request testing.

F: 50-59% or 100-119/200
D: 60-69% or 120-139/200
C: 70-79% or 140-159/200
B: 80-89% or 160-179/200
A: 90-99% or 180-199/200
A+: 100% or 200/200
You must have at LEAST an A to qualify for teacher.

Students may choose their teachers.
Anyone may recommend anyone for any position. We will be more then happy to subject that person to reveiw.

4. Only appointed members of this school can teach, test, or give battling advice to the students.This is to ensure order. When non-teachers start teaching things can become confusing.
